• Musk has gifted Tesla shares to charities in the past. In 2021, he gave away 5 million worth of stock to an unknown charity.

Elon Musk donated $1.95 billion worth of Tesla shares to a charity last year, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. 

The world's second richest person gave away about 11.6 million shares from August 12 to December 27 last year, per the filing. It did not state which charity organisation Musk gifted the shares to.
