Rihanna may not have been paid to perform by the NFL, but she's still found a way to profit from the highly anticipated show.
  • Rihanna performed at the Super Bowl LVII halftime show on Sunday in her first live performance in over five years.
  • Like past performers, she wasn't paid, but her music sales and streams have skyrocketed since Sunday.
  • The beauty mogul also released special edition football-themed items on the sites of her brands.

It's been seven years since pop icon Rihanna released her last album, but her Sunday performance at the Super Bowl has launched the singer-turned-mogul's music back to the forefront of America's minds and playlists.

Following her halftime show performance, the "Umbrella" singer saw a 390% boost in song sales and a 140% surge in streams in the US, according to data tracking firm Luminate, which provides data to Billboard for its charts. Songs on which Rihanna is the primary artist raked in over 62 million on-demand streams on Sunday and Monday compared to 25.8 million streams the two days prior, Billboard reported.

The halftime concert at Arizona's State Farm Stadium featured a medley of the 34-year-old's biggest hits including "Umbrella," "Diamonds," and "We Found Love" — as well as the major reveal that she's expecting a second child months after the birth of her son.

Of the 12-song mash-up, "Umbrella" was streamed the most — up 177% from the two days prior — followed by "Diamonds," according to Luminate's data. Both songs were first released over a decade ago, and the show was the star's first live performance in over five years.

The self-made billionaire, like past performers, wasn't compensated for the gig that attracted over 113 million viewers, according to Forbes. Per Insider's Sarah Al-Arshani, Super Bowl halftime show headliners are paid little to nothing for their performance, although the NFL does cover the costs associated with putting the show on.

Despite the lack of pay, Rihanna found other ways to capitalize off of the highly anticipated show. Her brands, Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, and Savage X Fenty all featured special-edition "Game Day" products to consumers.

The singer even took the opportunity to incorporate Fenty Beauty products into the halftime show with millions watching. According to Forbes, Rihanna is worth an estimated $1.4 billion.
