  • The UK government plans to train Ukrainian pilots on how to fly NATO-standard fighter jets. 
  • Downing Street made the announcement amid Zelenskyy's surprise trip in London on Wednesday. 
  • Ukraine has long requested advanced fighter jets, but NATO has been reluctant to provide them.

NATO members have been reluctant to send fighter jets to Ukraine, but one member of the alliance is offering to train Ukrainian pilots, a potential first step toward Ukraine obtaining the jets it wants.
