Chase has been busy in the last week making updates to its card offerings and benefits, including launching the new DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® - Product Name Only and adding Pay Yourself Back capability to Southwest credit cards.

Now there's another new perk, this time for Chase Sapphire Reserve® - Product Name Only cardholders. On March 20, 2023, Chase will open its new Sapphire Terrace at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). It will be a space for travelers who want to take a break and recharge before their flight, and to get in, you'll need to have a Chase Sapphire Reserve® - Product Name Only.

The Sapphire Terrace isn't exactly a lounge — in fact, it's not at all part of the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club network. It's also exclusive — only Chase Sapphire Reserve® - Product Name Only cardholders and their guests receive access.

Here's what to know about the new Chase Sapphire Terrace opening at Austin airport.

Chase Sapphire Terrace to open in Austin

The Sapphire Terrace at Austin airport will open at 8:30 a.m. Central Time on March 20, 2023, and regular operating hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. This isn't a short-term space; Chase says it will be a multiyear experience available at no charge to Chase Sapphire Reserve® - Product Name Only cardholders and up to two guests.

The Sapphire Terrace isn't part of a lounge network like Priority Pass. To get in, you'll need to show your Chase Sapphire Reserve® - Product Name Only at the door. 

This indoor-outdoor space sounds like a fun pit stop if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Austin airport. It will offer unique features, including:

• Complimentary local beverages such as cider from Austin Eastciders, beer from 512 Brewing Company, plus non-alcoholic drinks
• Grab-and-go bites
• Shuffleboard 
• Artwork from Austin artist and muralist Rex Hamilton

Austin airport doesn't currently have any non-airline lounges, so the Sapphire Terrace should be a great option for folks who don't have elite status or a premium airline credit card that confers lounge access. What remains to be seen is how popular the space will be and how crowded it will get. Hopefully, since it's only accessible to Chase Sapphire Reserve® - Product Name Only cardholders, it will have a more elite feel.
