Chase points are unusually valuable for Apple products in May 2023.
  • Chase is offering a bonus when you redeem points to purchase Apple products through Ultimate Rewards.
  • You'll get a 10% to 50% bonus (1.1 to 1.5 cents per point) depending on the Chase card you have.
  • The Chase Apple points promotion runs from May 1 to May 31, 2023.
  • Read Insider's guide to the best Chase cards.

Chase is back with its popular Apple points promotion, and if a new phone or gadget is on your list, you could get a better deal when you buy Apple products with Chase points through the Chase Ultimate Rewards® portal.

Normally, Chase points are worth 1 cent apiece toward Apple purchases made through Chase. But from May 1 to May 31, 2023, they're worth between 1.1 and 1.5 cents each, depending on which card you have.

Using credit card points to buy merchandise is a good way to save money if you're trying to cut costs, but you'll typically get a lower value from your Chase points than if you used points for other redemptions, like transfers to airline and hotel partners.

However, with this bonus, it could make more sense. Here's what to know about Chase points and Apple promotion.

We're focused here on the rewards and perks that come with each card. These cards won't be worth it if you're paying interest or late fees. When using a credit card, it's important to pay your balance in full each month, make payments on time, and only spend what you can afford to pay.

Buy Apple products with Chase points, get up to a 50% bonus

If you have a Chase Ultimate Rewards earning card, you can redeem your points directly for Apple products through the Apple Ultimate Rewards store. Most popular items, like MacBooks, iPhones, AirPods, and iPads, are offered through the portal, and the pricing is in line with what you'll see on Apple's website.

Instead of getting a value of 1 cent per point when you redeem this way, this promotion offers a 10% to 50% bonus, depending on the card you have:

What to know about using Chase points at Apple

You'll get the most value for Chase Ultimate Rewards points by transferring them to airline and hotel partners such as Hyatt, United Airlines, and Air Canada Aeroplan for (nearly) free travel — an average of 1.8 cents each, according to Insider's points and miles valuations.

However, if travel isn't in your foreseeable future, this latest promotion between Chase and Apple could be a perfectly reasonable redemption for you. You'll receive up to 1.5 cents per point (depending on which card you hold) from May 1 to May 31, 2023.

We usually see this deal pop up once or twice per year. If you're unsure as to whether you'd like to use your points this way, there's a good chance you'll get another opportunity in 2023.
