- A new Wall Street Journal report reveals the friendship between Jeffrey Epstein and Woody Allen.
- According to documents viewed by the WSJ, the pair made plans nearly every month for two years.
- At the time, Epstein was a registered sex offender who had already served over a year in jail.
Jeffrey Epstein and Woody Allen made plans to hang out nearly every month between 2014 and 2015, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing documents reviewed by the paper.
At the time, Epstein was already a registered sex offender who spent 13 months in jail after pleading guilty to soliciting a child prostitute in 2008.
A trove of documents, including emails and schedules, reveal just how friendly the disgraced financier was with Allen, the WSJ reported.
The WSJ reported that the reviewed documents show Epstein and Allen planned to get together nearly every month in 2014 and 2015, and also planned to watch movies, visit artist studios, and attend dinners together.
The WSJ reported that in 2012, they planned to view Allen's new film together; in 2013, they scheduled multiple visits to Jeff Koons' art studio; and in 2017, they planned to attend a Sotheby's auction together.
A representative for Allen did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
A spokeswoman for Allen told the WSJ that Allen never spent time with Epstein without his wife, Soon-Yi Previn, also being present.
"Woody and Soon-Yi lived in the same neighborhood as Epstein and were frequently invited to dinner parties at his townhouse," a spokeswoman for the couple told the WSJ. "There were always other guests at those gatherings."
The spokeswoman told the WSJ that Epstein and Allen "never had a business meeting."
Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while in jail awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges.
