No-drone zone near the Kremlin
A "No Drone Zone" sign sits just off the Kremlin in central Moscow as it prohibits unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) flying over the area, on May 3, 2023.
  • Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov blamed the US for drone strikes on the Kremlin.
  • "Decisions on such actions and such terrorist attacks are made not in Kyiv, but in Washington," he said.
  • Peskov offered no evidence for the claim, and the US has rejected the claim.

Russia has claimed the US was involved in a drone strike on the Kremlin that it alleges was part of a Ukrainian plot to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Offering no evidence for the claims, Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the attack was orchestrated in Washington, DC.
