Mortgage rates have dropped slightly, and based on indications from the Federal Reserve, they're likely to fall further this year.

On Wednesday, the Fed wrapped up its May meeting and announced it will raise the federal funds rate by 25 basis points as part of its continued efforts to bring inflation down to its 2% goal. But Fed Chair Jerome Powell suggested that this could be the central bank's last hike this year, which is good news for mortgage rates.
