- Jack White is auctioning off his Tesla Model S, with the top bid currently $31,500.
- The White Stripes' singer used to be a fan of Elon Musk, performing a free concert for Tesla workers.
- But then he slammed Musk's decision to restore Donald Trump's Twitter account.
Jack White is getting rid of his Tesla Model S, months after he slammed Elon Musk's revival of Donald Trump's Twitter account.
The White Stripes frontman and his label Third Man Records are auctioning off over 100 items including guitars, a drum kit, and an ice cream maker.
At $31,500 with four days remaining, White's Tesla looks set to be the most expensive item.
"Thought to be the first model S in the state of Tennessee, this car long-served as White's daily driver," the description notes.
It adds that the car doesn't include Tesla's Autopilot "because that shit is crazy dangerous."
White used to be a big fan of Musk and his electric vehicle company. In 2016, he shared a picture of the two on Instagram calling the billionaire "the Henry Ford of the 21st century."
And two years later, White performed a free concert for Tesla workers at the company's Fremont, California factory, Insider reported.
But things soured last November after Musk took over Twitter and unbanned Trump's account.
"Absolutely disgusting, Elon. That is officially an asshole move," White posted on Instagram.
He added that Musk deserved "a lot of compliments" for his Tesla work, "but you've gone too far and are now using your power to promote horrible, violence inducing liars, who are taking the country and the world backwards and endangering the democracy that made you rich and successful in the first place."
Tesla and a publicist for White did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
