Elon Musk, SpaceX and Tesla CEO, has a busy personal life in addition to running his companies.

Over the years, he has dated, married, divorced, and had children.

Elon Musk's 2 ex-wives, 3 marriages

Musk met his first wife, Justine Wilson, at Queen's University in Ontario, Canada. Writing in Marie Claire, Wilson recalled that Musk invited her out for ice cream. She decided to stay in to study, but he showed up with "two chocolate-chip ice cream cones dripping down his hands."

Musk transferred to Wharton, but the two reconnected as Musk started working on his first startup and Justine started working on her first novel after graduation. Justine wrote in Marie Claire that Musk wooed her by giving her his credit card to buy as many books as she wanted. The pair tied the knot in 2000.

The couple moved to Los Angeles and had a son named Nevada, who they lost to SIDS. Five of Elon Musk's children were born in his marriage to Justine: a set of twins and a set of triplets. The couple split up in 2008.

Musk then began dating actress Talulah Riley, whom he married in 2010. In 2010, Musk wrote that contrary to rumors, the relationship with Riley began after he had already split up with Justine.

Musk and Riley first met at a bar called Whisky Mist in Mayfair, London.

Two years later, Musk's divorce became public when he tweeted at Riley: "It was an amazing four years. I will love you forever. You will make someone very happy one day."

The couple remarried in 2013. On New Year's Eve 2014, Musk filed for a second divorce petition that he withdrew seven months later. In 2016, Riley filed for divorce from Musk, and the divorce was finalized later that year.

Relationships, children after marriages

Elon Musk and Amber Heard then got together, with the actress seemingly confirming their relationship on her Instagram account in 2017. Heard later testified in court that she first became friends with Musk after her then-husband, Johnny Depp, stood her up at the 2016 Met Gala, Insider reported.

In May 2018, Elon Musk and Grimes, a Canadian musician, arrived together at the annual Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They met over Twitter, bonding over a shared AI joke.

In September 2021, Musk and Grimes broke up after three years of dating and now have three children together - two sons and one daughter. Their third child, Techno Mechanicus, was born in June 2022 after their split and his existence was kept private for over a year, according to Musk's new biography

A few months later, Musk was linked to Australian actress Natasha Bassett, who was seen disembarking from Musk's private jet. Musk also had twins with Shivon Zilis, an executive at Musk's brain chip company Neuralink, in November 2021.

Musk has been open about his concerns over population decline, and after the news came out, he tweeted that he's "doing my best to help the under-population crisis."

Soon after, another bombshell dropped: The Wall Street Journal reported that Musk had reportedly had an affair with Nicole Shanahan, the wife of his longtime friend, Google cofounder Sergey Brin.

The Journal reported that Brin had filed for divorce from Shanahan in January 2022 after learning of the affair, but Musk denied the affair had ever happened, calling the report "total BS." Shanahan's lawyer told Page Six that the report was "an outright lie."

It's not clear who Elon Musk is dating as of July 2023.
