  • Rep. Ken Buck derided Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene as having less of a grasp on the Constitution than him.
  • He said she "learned a whole different set of values" than him when she was "teaching CrossFit."
  • The two are at loggerheads over impeaching Biden and his vote to certify the 2020 election.

Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado suggested on Thursday that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has a poor grasp of the Constitution, escalating an ongoing feud between the two Republican lawmakers.

It began earlier this week, when Greene wrote a lengthy tweet thread criticizing Buck for not having enough sympathy for jailed January 6 rioters.

Greene also hit Buck for voting to certify the 2020 election, saying it meant that he "does not support" former President Donald Trump.

She also criticized him for saying that he "doesn't see any reason to start an impeachment inquiry" into President Joe Biden.

Asked about Greene's comments on a local radio show, he mockingly referred to her past as the owner of a CrossFit gym, while referencing his own past as an instructor at University of Denver Law School.

"When I was teaching law school, I learned and taught certain constitutional principles," said Buck. "When Marjorie Taylor Greene was teaching CrossFit, she learned a whole different set of values."

"The Constitution says Congress shall count the votes. It doesn't say Congress may overturn an election result," he continued. "In her CrossFit class, maybe they didn't cover that."

"When you've got people who care more about their social media accounts than they do about the Constitution, we have a real problem in Congress," he concluded.

Buck, a longtime member of the House Freedom Caucus, is no moderate — he's among the most conservative lawmakers in Congress.

And Greene was ejected from the caucus earlier this summer, after simmering disagreements with other members.

"She has consistently attacked other members of the Freedom Caucus in an irresponsible way, and as a result of that she was kicked out of the Freedom Caucus," Buck said at the time. "She should not be a member."

Greene's office did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
