After wrapping up its September meeting, the Federal Reserve announced on Wednesday that it won't be making any changes to the federal funds rate this time around. This means mortgage rates are likely to stay near their current levels, barring any changes in the current economic outlook. Average 30-year mortgage rates will likely continue to hover right around 7% for at least the next few weeks.
