There are more than 8,000 Marriott Bonvoy properties worldwide, so it's a great hotel loyalty program to consider if you want to redeem points for stays around the globe. You can earn points on your paid Marriott stays by registering for the Marriott Bonvoy program, but using one of the best Marriott credit cards is the quickest way to boost your points balance. Amex is an Insider partner.

Now could be an especially good time to open a Marriott credit card, since two new welcome offers for the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card - Product Name Only and the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card - Product Name Only have launched that can earn you bonuses worth up to 170,000 points toward free hotel stays.

Keep in mind these offers are only available until November 1, 2023.

New intro offers for the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy and Bonvoy Brilliant

The new Marriott credit card offers are:

  • Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card - Product Name OnlyMarriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card - Intro Bonus
  • Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card - Product Name Only: Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card - Intro Bonus

Both of these welcome offers are improvements over the previous ones on each card. You won't have to meet a higher spending requirement than normal to earn these elevated offers, so there's no downside to applying now if you've been looking to boost your Marriott Bonvoy points balance.

In our points and miles valuations, we peg Marriott Bonvoy points at 0.7 cents apiece in value on average. You can get more value out of your rewards if you redeem them at very high-end properties that cost hundreds of dollars a night, but using this more conservative benchmark you're looking at Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card - Featured Reward Value in value from the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card - Product Name Only bonus, and Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card - Featured Reward Value in value from the new welcome offer on the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card - Product Name Only.

Marriott Bonvoy Bevy details

This card has an annual fee of Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card - Annual Fee — the lower of the two cards, but still nothing to sneeze at.

Still, it could be worth it if you can maximize its perks for Marriott stays, like:

  • An earning rate of 6 points per dollar for purchases at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy
  • 1,000 bonus points per paid eligible stay booked directly through Marriott for hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy
  • Complimentary Marriott Gold elite status, which gets you even more bonus points on paid Marriott Bonvoy stays
  • A Free Night Award for hotels that cost up to 50,000 points after you spend $15,000 on the card in a calendar year
  • 15 Elite Night credits toward the next level of Marriott elite status each calendar year

In our Marriott Bonvoy Bevy card review, our biggest quibble is that the card doesn't automatically get you a Free Night Award — you have to meet a spending requirement of at least $15,000 in a calendar year to earn it. But if you'd spend that much on this card anyway, that may not make a huge difference.

Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant details
