  • She pointed to a years-old report alleging Scalise had compared himself to a KKK grand wizard.
  • But in 2020, years after those allegations were publicized, she cheerfully touted his endorsement.

Republican Rep. Nancy Mace said she won't be backing Rep. Steve Scalise to become the next speaker of the House because of his previously reported comments about being similar to a Ku Klux Klan leader.
