- Blizzard is giving away a blood-infused PC to one lucky winner, as well as hosting a blood drive.
- The blood drive and giveaway are being done to promote a new season of action RPG "Diablo IV."
- The game studio isn't the first to create a blood-infused product; Lil Nas X and Tony Hawk have as well.
Blizzard is hosting a competition this month for a strangely unique PC that will make someone's blood run cold — quite literally.
The game studio, which is behind popular games like "Diablo IV" and "Overwatch," is giving away a PC that might be part of a vampire's dream gaming setup: a liquid-cooled PC that's infused with human blood.
The PC will come with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card, an Intel Core i9 CPU, 3 TB SSD storage, and a Quantum Vector GPU Waterblock, and will, of course, be infused with human blood, according to Nvidia.

The blood donations and the blood-infused PC are both a reference to the newest season of "Diablo IV," Season of Blood, which launched on October 17 and features vampire powers.
Blizzard is also encouraging gamers to donate blood at their local clinics or food banks to help their communities. Players above the age of 18 who donate blood will be rewarded with in-game prizes, according to Blizzard. However, you don't have to be 18 or over to enter the giveaway for the blood-infused PC. The blood drive will last from October 20 to November 20.
Of course, the blood donated by gamers will not be going into the PC. Once the blood donation goal, a goal of 666 quarts, is reached, the giveaway for the PC will begin. Blizzard says it is also giving "Diablo IV" players new items, like weapons and armor when blood donations meet certain goalposts.
The idea of a blood-infused item being given away may seem a bit bizarre, but Blizzard is not the first company to hop on the idea of infusing a product with blood. In 2021, Lil Nas X released a custom pair of Nike Air Max '97s infused with a drop of human blood in each pair. This was in collaboration with MSCHF, an art collective best known for its big red boots.
Later in 2021, professional skateboarder Tony Hawk sold 100 custom skateboards that were painted with his blood. The boards were seemingly a hit as they sold out shortly after going for sale.
