The Amazon Prime Day are halfway done, so you don't have long to snap them up, as most offers will expire at midnight PT tonight. That's if they don't sell out before, as suppliers only have a limited inventory they're willing to sell at a cut price. And $100 off a pair of one of some of the best headphones ever made, the Sony WH-100XM4, isn't something to sleep on.

Don't forget to check in on our roundup of the best Prime Day deals that are still going. We have another roundup just looking at Prime Day headphone deals, but these are the best over-ear options by a mile, in all honesty.

Right now, you can snag the Sony WH-1000XM4 for $100 off, bringing them down to $248 at Amazon. That matches the lowest price we've seen all year and is only $20 more than the all-time low of $228 we saw on Black Friday. Most competing noise-cancelling headphones in this class sell for $350 or more, so this is the perfect chance to snag a high-quality pair for a low price. Sony WH-1000XM4 vs. WH-1000XM5: What's the difference?

Though the WH-1000XM4 are great noise-cancelling headphones, you should keep in mind that Sony also sells a newer, more expensive model called the WH-1000XM5. The XM5s deliver better performance, but at just $248, we think the XM4s are a better deal for most shoppers.

Both headphones feature an over-ear design with Active Noise Cancelling (ANC), wireless Bluetooth support, and 30 hours of battery life. The XM5s step things up with a sleeker design, upgraded audio drivers, and additional ANC microphones. This gives the XM5s better sound quality and improved noise cancellation with higher frequencies. However, we think the XM4s are more comfortable and we like that you can fold them up for easier storage.

Ultimately, deciding between both headphones really comes down to how much you're willing to spend. The WH-1000XM5s aren't on sale for Prime Day. If you have the extra cash to spare, you can't go wrong with the XM5s, but at its current deal price, we think most buyers will be more than satisfied with the cheaper WH-1000XM4.
