Mint Mobile's Black Friday deal from last year is back. New and returning customers can get three months of service free when purchasing three months. We'll have more details for you below. If you're not already aware, Mint is a budget-friendly wireless provider that uses the same network that T-Mobile customers get, which won't change anytime soon—Mint is now a subsidiary of T-Mobile. You can check the coverage map here for an idea of how Mint will perform in your area.
Here's how Mint Mobile works: you either bring your own unlocked 4G- or 5G-compatible device to the network and purchase a SIM kit (effectively signing up for a plan). You could even take advantage of iPhone 15 deals on unlocked models and purchase a digital eSIM.
Whichever route you choose, just activate your eSIM or install the physical SIM card, go through a quick setup process, and you'll be all set with unlimited talk and text, plus however much data your plan allows. Look below for more details on all the offers Mint Mobile has today.
Today's best Mint Mobile deals plans and deals
For a limited time, Mint Mobile offers new customers three months of service for free on any of its data plans when you pay for three months upfront. Plans start as little as $15 when you break it down by monthly cost, but that'll become $7.50 per month here. Check out the various plans below for another visual of how much you'll actually pay and save over the life of each plan.
In a rare stroke of mercy by carrier standards, Mint also invites returning customers to take advantage—you'll be eligible for the promotion if it's been more than 90 days since you last had Mint Mobile service.
If you want to go all in on Mint, you can also take advantage of a deal that saves you 50% on 12 months of service when purchasing newer devices like the Pixel 8 Pro (currently $170 off) and iPhone 15 directly from the carrier. Perhaps the best Mint Mobile deal on phones right now is a $600 discount on the Pixel 7 Pro, bringing it down to just $389.
In addition to unlimited talk and text, all Mint plans include free calling to Canada and Mexico, WiFi calling and text, and free mobile hotspot access to share your phone's data with other devices. Hotspot data is limited to 10GB on the Unlimited plan, though.
Mint Mobile sale on phones
For a limited time, new customers porting a number from a different carrier and purchasing a new device from Mint Mobile can get 12 months of service for the price of six. You can often find new phones on discount like the Pixel 8 ($120 off right now) and Pixel 8 Pro ($170 off). Mint also now carries the iPhone 15 family. The biggest Mint Mobile phone deal right now is $600 off the Pixel 7, which is still an excellent phone by today's standards. You can buy them outright or finance them for low monthly payments through Affirm.
You can also take $50 off other select Android phones when purchasing any 12-month plan.
Will there be more Mint Mobile Black Friday deals?
Mint's current offer that gives you three extra months of service when buying three months matches the deal we saw during Black Friday in 2022. Odds are, the carrier won't stack more on top of the offers above. We may see more phones discounted, however, and there's always a small chance that it's holding back a surprise for Black Friday or Cyber Monday. We'll keep you updated if and when any new Mint deals arrive.
Is Mint Mobile good?
Ask most price-savvy wireless service shoppers which company you should consider switching to for lowering your monthly phone bill as much as possible, and Mint Mobile is almost guaranteed to come up. That's for good reason—Mint Mobile offers solid wireless service on the same networks the big names use for a fraction of the cost. Specifically, Mint Mobile runs on T-Mobile's nationwide 5G network and is now owned by that very company.
In our Mint Mobile review, we found that while overall service quality was pretty good, data speeds were a little too slow during peak usage. This affected video call quality enough that you might opt to wait until you're on WiFi for facetime action. But at $15, Mint Mobile is still one of the best values in alternative phone service.
How Mint Mobile's family plan works
Mint Mobile's "Modern Family" plan diverges from the traditional family plans often touted by other carriers, which commonly feature discounts for adding additional lines. Instead, Mint charges the same rate for each line as it does for the first.
The real benefit of Mint's family plan lies in its centralized management rather than cost savings. Customers can initiate a family plan with at least two lines, each priced according to its data allowance. For instance, a family could opt for a plan that includes one unlimited data line, a 15GB line, and a 5GB line.
How Mint Mobile's unlimited data plan works
Mint Mobile offers an unlimited data plan starting at $30 per month (currently discounted to $15), making it one of the more budget-friendly options available. Like many in its league, Mint limits the amount of high-speed data you get after hitting a certain threshold—40GB of usage in this case. After that, your speeds are cut down considerably until your cycle refreshes.
Mint also offers $50 off select Android phones when buying it with a 12-month plan.
