Kindle Unlimited Black Friday FAQs

What is Kindle Unlimited?

Kindle Unlimited is a monthly subscription service that gives you access to millions of ebooks and magazines, including some with Audible narration. The service typically costs $12 a month and new members are usually eligible for a 30-day trial.

How does Kindle Unlimited work?

Kindle Unlimited provides a membership to a digital library. That library is available via the Kindle app, or you can read online with your browser.

You can add up to 20 ebooks or audiobooks at a time to your personal collection and keep them for as long as you like. You can exchange titles whenever you want so there's essentially no limit on how many books you can read.

What's the difference between Prime Reading and Kindle Unlimited?

Amazon Prime members have access to a benefit called Prime Reading that also includes ebooks, magazines, and audiobooks. Prime Reading titles are also available via the Kindle app and on Kindle devices.

However, Kindle Unlimited provides access to a different, significantly larger library than what's available with Prime Reading. Prime members don't have to pay any additional fees for access to Prime Reading, but they do have to pay for Kindle Unlimited.

Is Kindle Unlimited worth it?

Kindle Unlimited is a great deal for frequent readers who want a wide selection to choose from, and the $12 monthly price is similar to the price of a single new book. However, Kindle Unlimited doesn't feature all of the latest releases.

Before signing up, you should browse the Kindle store to get a sense for what's actually available with Kindle Unlimited. Ebooks included with the subscription are clearly marked in the Kindle app.

Many of the included books come from the romance, thriller, and nonfiction genres, but there are some new releases and Amazon originals as well. Among the magazines included with Kindle Unlimited are Time, People, Cosmopolitan, Popular Mechanics, and Men's Health.

You can cancel your Kindle Unlimited subscription at any time, so if you don't use it often during your first three months, you can cancel before you're charged again.
