  • Frank Del Rio, who retired in June, wants to go on more cruises, the WSJ reported.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings' former president and CEO has listed his roughly 6,000-square-foot Vero Beach, Florida, mansion for $15.9 million.

You can probably guess where he wants to spend his newfound free time instead — on cruises, he told The Wall Street Journal.

In June, Frank Del Rio retired from his eight-year run as the head of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, which oversees Oceania, Regent Seven Seas, and Norwegian itself.

Before leading the cruise giant through the COVID-19 pandemic, Del Rio founded premium cruise brand Oceania in 2002.

Fresh into life as a retiree, he's now selling his beachside vacation home to spend more time with his family and — you guessed it — on cruises.

Frank Del Rio worked in the cruise industry for 30 years, eventually leading one of the most recognizable brands in the world.

"When you run a cruise line you hardly ever have a chance to go on a cruise," he told The Wall Street Journal, adding that his first vacation at sea will be a 20-day Antarctica sailing aboard the 1,250-guest Oceania Marina.

This new-to-market Vero Beach property is located about two-and-a-half hours from Miami, where Del Rio spends most of his time.

The home is located about a 20-minute drive from Vero Beach Regional Airport.

After becoming CEO in 2015, he and his wife Marcia Del Rio purchased the home for $2.46 million to use as a nearby beachside getaway, according to the Journal.

The couple then poured another approximately $3.5 million into renovations, which included building out a path to the beach.

The Del Rios spent about $6 million on renovations and furniture, the WSJ reported.

This doesn't include the additional roughly $2.5 million the couple spent on furniture, reflected in the asking price, or the art collection, worth approximately $1 million.

The former CEO used to pick the art for his ships.

This inspired him to start his own collection.

Listed at $15.9 million, the home is pricier than most Vero Beach properties.

But most homes in the neighborhood probably aren’t like this seven-bedroom, eight-and-a-half-bathroom mansion.

Many of the bedrooms have views of the Atlantic Ocean.

This includes the cabana bathroom by the pool.

Inside, the home is lined with wood flooring, a surround-sound system, and custom Italian built-ins, according to One Sotheby's International Realty.

There's also an adjacent bar for pre-dinner drinks.

Who cares about the home's two offices when the beach has WiFi access? That's where Del Rio preferred to work, he told the WSJ.

The house's next owners can either work from the home office or the beach.

This doesn't mean the interior offices aren't luxurious in their own way: One has a dual-sided fireplace surrounded by a marble wall in the living room and a stone wall in the adjacent office.

Visitors also get a taste of this luxury in the “guest wing,” which has a laundry room and two bathrooms and bedrooms.

Even the three-car garage has a high-end flair: air conditioning.

If this property reminds you of a cruise ship, you’re not alone — the home has design elements akin to Norwegian Cruise Line’s vessels, according to Del Rio.

The home's light grey and beige aesthetic and minimalist bathrooms are reminiscent of the staterooms aboard the Norwegian Prima.

The former CEO's 30-plus years in the cruise business influenced the design of this home.

"You walk into this house and you might think you've walked into one of my cruise ships," he told the Journal.
