- Indeed's new analysis indicates which companies are quickly hiring.
- Based on Indeed's methodology, Signet Jewelers had the highest relative hire rate.
- Tesla and Ross Dress For Less were also among companies hiring the fastest.
It may feel harder to get a job compared to last year, and it might not get easier soon given recent data showing job openings broadly declining throughout 2023.
However, some companies have been hiring faster than others, according to a new analysis from career site Indeed.
Tesla and Bath & Body Works are two companies that have quickly filled work opportunities compared to other companies. That's based on a new Indeed analysis of US postings shared with Business Insider that shows which companies are hiring relatively quickly.
"To be considered, an employer must have at least 25 measured hires (or hired signals)," Indeed said. Employers also had to be part of the top 1,000 in job postings between August 1 and the end of October. "Staffing agencies and companies that are strictly seasonal in operation" were not included.
Signet Jewelers is hiring 2.29 times faster than other companies in the analysis. That translated to the company being ranked No. 1. Signet Jewelers wasn't the only company with a relative hire rate above 2. Mariano's had a rate of 2.06 and ranked No. 2.
Below are the companies that have been hiring at a faster pace than others, per the new Indeed analysis.
Scott Dobroski, career trends expert at Indeed, told Business Insider that these companies may be a good starting point if getting hired fast "is really what matters to you."
Dobroski said there's "a spike in job seekers coming to Indeed and searching for jobs and applying to jobs from mid to late January and through the early months." Plus, Dobroski said, "given the fact that there are fewer jobs available in the US now looking at BLS data compared to a year ago, this list is really helpful for people who want to get hired quickly, who need a job, who want to get some income because it may be tougher to get a job in early 2024 than it was a year ago."
Dobroski pointed to companies gearing up for either travelers or holiday seasonal hiring as two patterns among those with high hire rates.
"There's several companies, from jewelers to restaurants, that are gearing up for more staff around the holidays when they do more business," Dobroski said. "Then you see some companies on here like hotel chains that are gearing up for travel since we know a lot of consumers and Americans travel during the holidays."
Tesla ranked No. 8 with a relative hire rate of 1.68. Dobroski said Tesla, "continues to hire for hard to fill and tech talent in particular."
While this ranking focused on hiring from August through October, Dobroski said "all of these companies are still hiring."
"What this list is showing is for anyone who wants to get hired quickly, these are the companies doing it best," Dobroski said.
Still, the companies on the list could differ in the future as Dobroski said it "will likely often change depending on the time of the year."
