While some US workers may be thinking about staying in their jobs, others might be seeking a new position in a potentially more choosy job market.
Glassdoor recently published its new Best Places to Work ranking based on how US-based employees felt about their workplaces. One key criterion was these employers had to have at least 75 US-based employee ratings for several workplace attributes, such as work-life balance and the overall company rating.
"Employees' Choice Award winners for the Best Places to Work 2024 are determined using Glassdoor's proprietary awards algorithm, and each employer's rating is determined based on the quantity, quality and consistency of Glassdoor-approved company reviews submitted by U.S.-based employees between October 18, 2022 and October 16, 2023," a press release stated.
Microsoft, Keller Williams, In-N-Out Burger, and MathWorks were among the top 25 on the list of large companies with big US workforces. Glassdoor released a ranking for smaller companies too.
While Microsoft ranked high on the 2024 list, ranking No. 18, it was one of the tech companies with layoff plans in 2023.
Management-consulting employer Bain & Company ranked No. 1. This company was No. 3 in the 2022 and 2023 list.
"Bain & Company claims the top spot with a 4.8 rating out of 5 and is one of two companies that have ranked on Best Places to Work lists every year," a press release about the new results said.
The press released noted Bain has been at the top a few times in previous iterations of the ranking. Google fell just short of the top 25 in the 2024 list, ranking No. 26.
