Plufl is a dog bed designed for humans.
  • The Plufl human dog bed was one of Google's trendiest products last year.
  • The $500 bed debuted in 2022, and went viral in 2023.
  • It started as a passion project, but the business reportedly now has over 10,000 customers.

Coziness was a top priority in 2023 as people discovered new ways to lounge.

Enter the Plufl human dog bed, a human-sized version of the floor-level furniture our pets enjoy. It landed on Google's annual 100 trending holiday gifts, with search interest spiking 1,650% in 2023.

The item looks exactly like it sounds — a 68-inch round bed that sits on the floor and can accommodate people, pets, or both. The fluffy cover is washable and made of orthopedic foam.

What started off as a passion project by two college students turned into a million-dollar business by February of last year, ABC7 reported at the time.

The Plufl, regularly priced at $499, debuted in 2022 with a viral presence on social media and an appearance on ABC's "Shark Tank" in October of the same year. Creators Noah Silverman and Yuki Kinoshita scored a $200,000 deal with Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner.

The bed is 68 inches long and about 25 pounds when it's fully assembled.

Now, the company has over 10,000 customers, The Wall Street Journal reported. Business Insider Reviews shared its own experience with the highly-coveted Plufl bed in November.

"Regardless of the assembly, size, and price point, I love my Plufl. I had multiple friends lay in the Plufl to see if it was comfortable for a variety of body sizes, and the reaction was the same: 'I think I need one of these,'" BI Reviews' Lily Alig wrote.

The bed often goes on sale if the $499 price tag is out of budget. As of Tuesday morning, Plufl was offering it for $200 off the original price.
