Claudine Gay is officially out as Harvard's president.
Gay announced the news in a letter published on Harvard's website.
She wrote that "it has been distressing to have doubt cast on my commitments to confronting hate and to upholding scholarly rigor."

Claudine Gay resigned as Harvard's president on Tuesday, capping a weekslong school controversy that included plagiarism accusations and calls for her dismissal.
