People relax on a Sunday at Lake Zurich during the coronavirus pandemic on July 12, 2020 in Zurich, Switzerland.
Zurich, Switzerland is the sixth-most liveable city in the world, according to an Economist Intelligence ranking, but it's also one of the most expensive.
  • Western European cities like Zurich and Copenhagen are ranked among the most "liveable."
  • But the Economist Intelligence Unit's ranking doesn't factor in affordability.
  • Some cities with the highest quality of life are also the costliest.

Living in a global city with a high quality of life is increasingly reserved for the wealthiest.
