- It comes after Republicans proposed Washington Dulles Airport be renamed after the former President.

Three House Democrats unveiled legislation on Friday that would rename a federal prison in Miami after former President Donald Trump.
The bill, which would designate the Miami Federal Correctional Institution in Florida the "Donald J. Trump Federal Correctional Institution," comes a week after a group of Republican representatives proposed renaming Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia after the former president.
"When our Republican colleagues introduced their bill to rename Dulles after Donald Trump, I said the more fitting option would be to rename a federal prison," Rep. Gerry Connolly of Virginia said in a statement Friday.
Connolly, along with Reps. Jared Moskowitz of Florida and John Garamendi of California introduced the bill.
"I see no reason to wait," Connolly said. "I hope our Republican friends will join us in bestowing upon Donald J. Trump the only honor he truly deserves."
From allegations of plotting to overturn a lost election to claims he illegally hid classified documents at his Florida estate, Trump has been indicted in four separate prosecutions. He faces 88 criminal counts overall.
Trump is the first former president in US history to be criminally indicted.
"I cannot think of a more fitting tribute to our former president, Donald J. Trump, than renaming the closest federal prison to Mar-a-Lago in his honor," Rep. Garamendi said in the statement on the proposed bill, referring to Trump's Florida estate where it is alleged he stowed top-secret government documents.
"Everyone knows President Trump loves to write his name in gold letters on all his buildings," Rep. Moskowitz said in the statement. "But he's never had his name on a federal building before, and as a public servant, I just want to help the former president. Help us make that dream a reality."
The bill to rename Dulles airport, sponsored by Rep. Guy Reschenthaler and co-sponsored by six other Republican representatives, was filed last Friday.
Earlier this week, Reschenthaler commented on the bill on X: "Freedom. Prosperity. Strength. That's what America stood for under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump — the best president of my lifetime."
"And that's why I'm introducing legislation to rename Dulles as the Donald J. Trump International Airport," he wrote.
