Yinon Shivtiel, a historian at Zefat Academic College, crawls through an underground hideout in Huqoq, northern Israel. The labyrinth, comprising narrow tunnels and large storage spaces, was dug by Jewish villagers nearly 2,000 years ago at a time of revolt against the Roman Empire.
