Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race and endorsed Kamala Harris — and the internet is eager for Maya Rudolph to impersonate the presumptive Democratic nominee on "Saturday Night Live."
Since Biden announced his decision to quit the race and endorse his vice president on Sunday, people online have reacted to the news through an abundance of "coconut tree" memes and "brat summer" comments. It was inevitable that Rudolph, who played Harris various times on "SNL," would also be the subject of jokes and memes.
Fans are eager for Maya Rudolph to be booked and busy impersonating Kamala Harris on 'SNL'
Season 49 of "SNL" ended in May, and the show is currently on its summer hiatus, but that hasn't stopped fans from thinking ahead. Many are hoping that "SNL" creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels is already getting plans in motion for Rudolph to appear in time for the fall return. Rudolph herself has yet to reveal if she'll reprise the role.

Rudolph has been portraying Harris on 'SNL' since 2019
Despite exiting "SNL" as a full-time cast member in 2007, the actor has returned many times over the years, most recently as a host during season 49.
Rudolph first put her comedic spin on Harris in an "SNL" sketch in the fall of 2019, amid the 2020 presidential race. She later won a Creative Arts Emmy in 2020 for guest actress in a comedy role for playing Harris.
Harris reacted to Rudolph's impersonation during an appearance on NBC's "Late Night With Seth Meyers" in October 2019.
"First of all, I grew up watching 'Saturday Night Live,' so the thought that anyone would be in any way depicting me on 'Saturday Night Live' was just… I was a bit overwhelmed," Harris said. "But I will tell you that I fully intend to make sure she has a good eight years of work on 'SNL.'"
