Throughout the program, subtle tributes to notable figures and movements took the form of outfits with meaningful color choices and songs with sentimental connections.
Here are some of the hidden details you may have missed.

A member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe, Peggy Flanagan would be the first Native American woman governor in the US and Minnesota's first female governor if Gov. Tim Walz is elected vice president. She served as cochair of the Democratic National Convention.
