Ukraine launched a rare attack into Russian territory on Wednesday, pushing into the Kursk oblast.
On Thursday, several dozen people in Kursk posted an urgent plea for help to Vladimir Putin.
They claimed to Putin that he's been lied to by his officials that Ukraine's attack was under control.

Residents in Russia's besieged Kursk oblast have published an appeal for help from the country's leader, Vladimir Putin, saying the fighting there is far more intense than military leaders are letting on.
