- Travis Scott was arrested in Paris on Friday after a run-in with a security guard, authorities said.
- The incident occurred at the Georges V hotel, a luxury five-star hotel in Paris.
- Scott has a history of legal issues, including a recent arrest in Miami.
Rapper Travis Scott was arrested on Friday morning after a fight with a security guard at a luxury hotel in Paris, according to French authorities.
The Paris prosecutor's office said police were called to the five-star Georges V hotel, per the French AFP newswire.
The Georges V is managed by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and costs $2,500 or more for a night in the cheapest room.
Prosecutors told AFP that police arrested Scott on an allegation of "violence against a security agent."
It said the guard intervened to separate Scott from his own bodyguard.
The hotel did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.
Scott was in Paris for the Olympic Games. He was seen sitting courtside for the men's basketball semifinal on Thursday, in which Team USA beat Serbia.
It is far from Scott's only encounter with law enforcement.
The rapper was arrested in Miami Beach in June this year on charges of trespassing and disorderly intoxication. The disorderly intoxication charge was later dropped.
In 2021, Scott's performance at the Astroworld Festival in Texas was the scene of a crowd crush, which resulted in 10 deaths and hundreds of injuries.
Though a Texas grand jury declined to indict Scott, he could still be held responsible in civil litigation.
Scott has been nominated for 10 Grammy Awards. He's also well-known for his past relationship with Kylie Jenner, with whom he has two children.
In a statement provided to BI by email, a spokesperson for Scott said: "We are in direct communication with the local Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve this matter and will provide updates when appropriate."
