A little over a month after it made its HGTV debut, Karen E. Laine is selling the house she renovated on "Good Bones."

Season nine of "Good Bones" brought Mina Starsiak Hawk and Laine back to TV screens in August, though the mother and daughter did not reunite amid their rift.

During the season, Laine renovated a 500-square-foot home in Wilmington, North Carolina, to split her time between Indiana and the coast. According to Zillow, the house was last purchased for $70,000 in February 2023.

But a little over a month after the series aired, Laine is selling the home for half a million dollars.

During its first eight seasons on HGTV, "Good Bones" followed Hawk and Laine as they renovated homes together in the Indianapolis area.

After season eight aired in 2023, Laine announced it would be her last season of the show. She later said on her podcast that her relationship with her mother had become strained.

The show returned for a mini-season in August with just three episodes.

The first episode spotlighted Hawk's renovation of a lake house for her family in Indiana, while episodes two and three followed Laine's makeover of a cottage in North Carolina.

For most of "Good Bones," Laine was based in Indiana, where she and Hawk ran their business.

But in season nine, Laine decided to start splitting her time between Indiana and Wilmington, North Carolina, where she purchased the cottage she is now selling on Zillow.

As "Good Bones" fans will remember, the 500-square-foot home, originally built in 1900, was not in great shape when Laine bought it. According to Zillow, it sits on a 2,178-square-foot lot.

Throughout the renovation, Laine customized the property to fit her needs, saying she wanted the house to suit her tastes and have space for her grandchildren to visit her.

She painted the house blue and revamped the front porch.

Laine leaned into color throughout the renovation, taking inspiration from the Wilmington beaches for the aesthetic.

The most notable colorful addition to the home was her floors. Laine painted the oak floors she installed in the home blue using wood stain and fabric dye for a one-of-a-kind look.

Laine wanted her wood countertops to look sea-glass-inspired. She painted them green to add color, then used a resin finish to give them a shiny look.

She also optimized the small space with her design. For instance, she installed barstools that folded into the wall when they weren't being used in the kitchen, and her open shelving doubled as decor in addition to storage space.

Though small, the kitchen has a stove, oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator.

Aside from its blue floors, the bedroom is simple, but Laine's bed frame added some glamour.

As she documented in the series, Laine added a gold finish to a vintage bedframe she bought locally.

The house features solar air conditioning and electric heating. It has one bathroom as well.

Though the cottage is only 500 square feet, Laine created an open-concept loft on the second floor.

She designed the space for leisure time and hosting her grandchildren, building Murphy-style beds that fold into the wall. As "Good Bones" shows, Laine was inspired to build the folding beds after visiting a battleship in Wilmington.

The blue floors continue on the second floor as well.

Laine listed the home on Zillow on September 28, just a month after the "Good Bones" finale aired.

The site estimates it is worth $143,000, which is $357,000 less than Laine's asking price. Other homes in the area are listed on Zillow for between $46,400 and $186,700.
