The 98th Academy Awards were filled with surprises and big-name winners.
In the face-off between Timothée Chalamet and Michael B. Jordan in the best actor category, Jordan won for his performance as twin brothers Smoke and Stack in "Sinners."
"Sinners" entered the night with a record 16 nominations, and though it took home four wins, it didn't win best picture; that went to "One Battle After Another." Its director, Paul Thomas Anderson, also went home with the best director prize.
Other big winners included Jessie Buckley landing the best actress statue for "Hamnet," "Weapons" star Amy Madigan going home with the Oscar for best supporting actress, and Ryan Coogler winning best original screenplay for "Sinners."
The night also saw its first tie in 14 years, when the best live action short went to "The Singers" and "Two People Exchanging Saliva."
