After attacking the Pope over the weekend on his own Truth Social, Donald Trump doubled down in the strangest way: by sharing an AI image (now deleted) that appeared to show the president as Jesus — Trump claimed he thought "it was me as a doctor and had to do with Red Cross."
"He posted this AI image depicting himself as Jesus, presumably trying to heal Jon Stewart," says Stephen Colbert in the Late Show clip above, making the same observation that Jon Stewart made himself on The Daily Show.
"It's worth taking a moment to break down what's going on here," Colbert continues. "Above him is a heavenly host heralding the savior in chief's arrival: You've got a bunch of cloud soldiers, an astronaut with a shiv, and that middle guy is a winged man-beast with spikes where his head should be, looking like a bootleg Transformers action figure your grandma got you at the dollar store."
