August used to be a relatively sleepy month for tech news — no longer! Now that Google scooted up its annual October Pixel event by two months, the tech world is abubble, going over everything execs announced from Mountain View, California at the Made By Google keynote on Tuesday.
As we did last Friday and the Friday before that (and shall continue to do until the internet turns itself off), we have rounded up the best deals we spotted this week and put them in one convenient location. These are the tech gadgets we have used, reviewed and recommend that happen to be seeing worthwhile discounts at the moment.
As we've seen in years past, once Amazon's Prime Day ends, many of the deals evaporate.
So much relies on Wi-Fi — your TV, music, games, smart home devices, possibly even your alarm clock — which makes dead zones productivity killers.
Prime Day might be over, but there are a (somewhat surprising) number of Apple deals still live right now. Apple itself doesn’t typically host sales, but we often see deals from Amazon on current-generation Apple devices — most of which will get even better this fall with the software updates Apple announced at WWDC.
On the second day of Amazon's Prime Day sale, the deals on smaller gadgets and accessories are still going strong. In fact, as I was checking to make sure these deals were still live, I noted about five on the list that dropped a few dollars cheaper than they were yesterday. As a reminder, this list represents the best of the affordable tech gear that we at Engadget have tested, reviewed and know to be worth your time.
On day two of Amazon's sale, many other retailers have gotten into the deals frenzy with sales of their own.
We now face the second (and last) day of Amazon’s Prime Day sale. It's still a good time to buy a new speaker as all of the deals we've highlighted are still live. Sure, we all carry around tiny sound emitters in our pocket, but a smartphone can't beat the output of a portable Bluetooth speaker.
Many modern kitchens are a lovely blend of old-school tools and tech-infused gadgets, and we at Engadget have tried the gamut.
Ereaders make it easy to take an entire library of books with you, and E Ink screens tend to be easier on your eyes than a tablet’s LED display. Amazon Kindles are easily the most popular ereader on the market — but they don’t go on sale often. Now that Amazon’s (twice) yearly Prime Day sale has arrived, we’re seeing discounts on nearly every Kindle the company makes.
