Is it a tool or a toy?

With the rise and proliferation of advanced, large language model chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, everyone and their mother seems to be talking about AI.

There’s a new ChatGPT app for the Apple Watch called Petey, and if Siri had feelings, she’d definitely be worried. You can speak to Petey using voice-to-text and hear it read back responses in a cute little robot voice, then share its AI answers over text or email.

Fully intent on being the next Skynet, OpenAI has released GPT-4, its most robust AI to date that the company claims is even more accurate while generating language and even better at solving problems.
