Finally, playing your full Steam VR library on Meta Quest headsets just got a whole lot easier.

Meta has paused sales of the Meta Quest 3 Elite Strap with Battery at retail, reportedly over a charging defect affecting some customers, according to Road to VR.

After 14 years of no access to China, Meta has finally managed to strike a deal with the Chinese videogame maker and the world’s largest videogame company, Tencent Holdings. Starting in late 2024, Meta will be able to sell their new lower-cost virtual-reality headset in China.

ByteDance, the China-based company that owns TikTok as well as one of the biggest overseas VR makers, Pico, is taking a long look at its VR headset business, finding that all those metaverse champions were way too “optimistic” in their estimation that virtual reality would take over the world.
How’s that whole metaverse thing going? Well, according to one top analyst’s sales expectations for the Quest 3 mixed reality headset, not as well as Meta might hope.
