The Department of Justice filed a lawsuit Thursday against SpaceX for allegedly refusing to hire refugees and asylees. The DOJ said the company incorrectly cited federal regulations to justify discriminatory hiring practices.

As private space companies have ramped up production and launches in the past several years, they’ve also been unwittingly putting a target on their back. U.S. government agencies are warning the private space sector that they are in the crosshairs of foreign intelligence agencies.

Following back-to-back annual losses, SpaceX has reportedly turned a profit during the first quarter of the year despite an increase in costs as the company continues to spend on its unproven Starship rocket, which has not flown.
