- Delta will give you 1,000 bonus miles if you spend at least $2 at Starbucks twice in one week.
- Just link your SkyMiles and Starbucks accounts and enroll in the promotion by September 12.
- You'll receive the miles within 10 business days of completing the offer.
You can now earn 1,000 Delta bonus miles just for buying Starbucks twice in one week. That's about as many miles as you'd earn for flying from New York to Florida.
As a frequent Delta flyer and caffeine addict, this promotion felt personally targeted and too good to be true. But for the most part, it's actually pretty simple.
First, you need to create a SkyMiles and Starbucks Rewards account (if you don't already have one) and link the two on their partnership website. Next, enroll in the limited-time offer here by September 12.
Once that's all set up, you have one week to make two Starbucks purchases worth at least $2 each (excluding tax and tip).
Typically, it takes a flight of decent length to earn 1,000 miles, as you'll usually earn 1 for every mile flown. SkyMiles are worth about 1.5 cents each when redeemed for award flights, Nerd Wallet estimates.
In order for the purchases to qualify for the promotion they must be made at a qualifying Starbucks location (check here using the "redeem rewards" filter). Make sure to pay for your coffee using a payment method linked to your Starbucks rewards account or by scanning the barcode in the Starbucks mobile app prior to completing checkout.
Another important thing to remember is that bonus miles don't count towards Medallion Status or Million Miler Status.
