Tech entrepreneur Bryan Johnson revealed that he used to drink 3 ounces of alcohol every morning.
The longevity fanatic, who is on track to spend $2 million this year on reversing his biological age, said on the "Diary of A CEO" podcast that he "enjoyed" drinking wine for breakfast but that he cut it out of his restrictive diet because it had too many calories. He drank early in the day to avoid it negatively affecting his sleep at night.
"Then I got rid of it because it was too expensive from a calorie perspective," Johnson told the podcast host Steven Bartlett. He added that he couldn't fit the 71 calories into his "calorie budget" for the day and explained his current breakfast routine to Bartlett.
"Every calorie has to fight for its life," Johnson said. "There's not a single calorie in my entire life protocol that exists for any reason other than serving an objective in the body."
The self-described "professional rejuvenation athlete" detailed what he eats in a day. He said he starts his day off with a blended mix of juices called "green giant" and takes 60 pills. He said his daily calorie intake is now 2,250, up from exactly 1,977 calories he previously said.
He then works out for an hour before having a "super veggie" dish, which includes broccoli, cauliflower, ginger, hemp seeds, dark chocolate, and extra virgin olive oil. An hour later he follows it up with a "nutty pudding" consisting of macadamia nuts, walnuts, flax seed, pomegranate juice, and berries. An hour later he eats his third and final meal of the day at 11 a.m.
The 45-year-old previously said he has a "biological age" of 37, thanks to the anti-aging program Project Blueprint that he created. The program is led by physician Oliver Zolman, who calls himself the "rejuvenation doctor," and is supported by a team of more than 30 health experts who carry out tests on his regimen to test its impact.
