Several big tech firms are giving cash payments to employees in Israel to help support them amid the conflict with Hamas.
Intel plans to give $5,000 to each of its 12,000 workers in Israel in November, business news outlet Globes reported.
The CEO of Intel, Pat Gelsinger, told employees in a letter seen by Globes that the payment was a "sign of appreciation" for their "commitment" to the chipmaker amid the conflict.
Gelsinger also told workers in the memo that their efforts to continue working and support colleagues who haven't been able to "has not gone unnoticed."
Salesforce is also giving employees in Israel a payment of 10,000 shekels ($2,483), while those in the army reserve will get twice that sum, according to the report. The US firm has 700 employees in Israel based offices in Nazareth, Petah Tikva and Tel Aviv, its website says.
Cisco is also providing a grant of between 9,500 and 19,000 ($2,355 to $4,710) to 800 workers in Israel, tech news site Ctech reported.
Nvidia CEO Jenseng Huang recently told staff in an internal email, seen by Insider, that its employees in Israel would get a bonus "to help in a small way." He said in a separate email that almost 400 employees have returned to military duty following the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7.
About 200 hostages were captured during the Hamas attacks, which also killed more than 1,400 Israelis, according to Israeli authorities.
Israel is targeting Hamas leaders and infrastructure in Gaza, but thousands of Palestinians have also died, the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry has said.
Intel, Safesforce and Cisco didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from Insider, made outside of normal working hours.
