We're focused here on the rewards and perks that come with each card. These cards won't be worth it if you're paying interest or late fees. When using a credit card, it's important to pay your balance in full each month, make payments on time, and only spend what you can afford to pay.

Cardholders earn:
- 2 miles per dollar on United purchases (including airline tickets purchased from United, seat upgrades, Economy Plus, inflight food, beverages and Wi-Fi, baggage service charges, and other United fees)
- 2 miles per dollar on dining (including eligible delivery services)
- 2 miles per dollar at gas stations
- 2 miles per dollar at office supply stores
- 2 miles per dollar on local transit and commuting (including rideshare services, taxicabs, train tickets, tolls, and mass transit)
- 1 mile per dollar on all other purchases
How to use miles from the United Business Card
You can use the miles you earn with the
You can expect to pay 12,500 to 14,500 miles for a one-way domestic flight in economy when saver pricing is available, but sometimes these awards are offered for as little as 5,000 miles one-way. That means you could score a round-trip domestic economy ticket for as little as 25,000 miles.
United Airlines is part of the Star Alliance, and you can also use United miles to book award flights on other Star Alliance airlines. These include ANA, Air Canada, Lufthansa, Swiss, and Thai. You can also redeem United miles for award flights on non-alliance partners, like Aer Lingus.
Using your United miles to book a first-class flight with one of these airlines is a great way to get maximum value. Not only will you get more value from each mile with a premium-cabin ticket, but you'll also enjoy all the perks of first or business class longer if you choose to fly one of these carriers to a long-haul destination like Asia.
United also offers a redemption option called "Money + Miles," which is similar to Delta's Pay With Miles feature. Money + Miles is currently available on select United flights, and it allows you to pay for part of your fare with cash and the rest with miles, at a fixed rate of 1 cent per mile.
If you're not ready to travel right now, there's no rush to spend your miles because United miles don't expire. However, you've got other ways to redeem your miles, but you'll typically get a much lower value:
- Seat upgrades
- United Club memberships
- Inflight Wi-Fi passes
- TSA PreCheck application fees
- Merchandise
- Gift cards
- Experiences
- Hotels and cruises
- Charitable donations

Be sure to read the terms and conditions that come with the card for any exclusions.
