United is planning to replace virtually every existing 757 route with the new Airbus A321XLR.

  • United will replace its aging Boeing 757s with the Airbus A321XLR starting in December 2025.
  • The narrowbody can fly up to 5,400 miles nonstop, making it ideal for lower-demand long-haul routes.
  • United plans to serve existing cities with the A321XLR and add new ones that the 757 couldn't reach.

Dozens of global carriers have secured more than 550 orders for Airbus' newest narrowbody plane, the Airbus A321XLR, since its 2019 launch.
