Threads’s chess match against X, formerly called Twitter, continues with the launch of its polls and GIF features on Thursday.

My oh my, what a year it’s been. After several months of back-and-forth between billionaire and tech tycoon Elon Musk and social media company Twitter, the former officially took over as owner of the platform one year ago on Oct. 26, 2022.

On Monday, Instagram announced it’s testing a feed that only shows posts from verified accounts.

After shoving a Threads carousel into Facebook and Instagram, Meta gets that users might not like it.

Instagram users reported last week that their bios including the word “Palestinian” and the Arabic phrase “Alhamdulillah”, which means “praise be to God”, were auto-translated to say “Palestinian terrorists are fighting for their freedom.”

Threads search is blocking terms like “Covid,” “vaccines,” “long Covid,” and others, but it is reportedly only temporary according to Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri.
