Spotify recently emailed its customers, informing them that Car Thing will be discontinued and no longer operational after December 9, 2024. This oddly-named device is the streaming company’s first-ever attempt at hardware and allows users to control Spotify in their cars via a touch-screen or voice commands.

Amazon is set to add even more ads to Prime Video in the form of pause ads built entirely to leverage your Prime subscription and sell you stuff. This comes after the online retail monolith just got done forcing ads on Prime Video subscribers unless they paid an extra $3 a month.

On Monday, Apple was hit with a stunning €1.84 billion ($2 billion) fine for violating antitrust laws in Europe. The EU said the company “abused its dominant position” by forcing Spotify and other music streaming apps not to tell customers they could save money if they subscribed outside of the App Store.
