Deep into the night before All Hallows Eve, Apple’s Cupertino spaceship headquarters was shrouded in a dense, black fog as if preparing to release a malevolent force upon the world. Thankfully, when the fog cleared, what we had instead was three new chips, a MacBook Pro update, and an iMac refresh.
It’s Halloween eve, and Apple brought along a few new desktop products to bask in the dark joys of spooky season, most notably a new Space Black color for the company’s leading laptops.
Amazon’s second Prime Day of 2023 is here, and it runs October 10-11. Yes, that’s right before the holiday shopping season really kicks off in November, but if you shop early, there are some good deals to be found on TVs, audio gear, laptops and especially Amazon’s own branded items.
A budget laptop has to walk a very fine line. Cut too many features, and it’s going to offer disappointing performance and be annoying to use, no matter how low the price. Get too ambitious, and feature creep will drive the price up so much that it’s not a budget laptop at all anymore.
