Amazon sets a goal each year for how many employees it wants to lose, voluntarily or otherwise, without managers being upset about their departure, Insider has reported.
According to a former employee, the company gave senior leaders "unregretted attrition" numbers — the percentage of employees that managers aren't sad to see leave the company, whether voluntarily or otherwise.
