- The latest LA hot spot for influencers and celebrities is an invite-only fitness studio.
- The club is located inside the Beverly Hills headquarters of the trendy athleisure brand, Alo Yoga.
- The exclusive club has hosted workouts for Glen Powell, Tate McRae, and Harry Jowsey.
The hottest invite-only club in Beverly Hills might just be the most stereotypically Los Angeles experience in town.
The club, an exclusive fitness studio located inside athleisure brand Alo Yoga's corporate headquarters, has become a hot spot for celebrities, influencers, and models to work out and network.
Unlike Alo Yoga's other fitness studios in LA, New York, and DC, the wellness club is invite-only. The studio includes a gym, pilates studio, personal trainers, weight rooms, saunas, and cold plunges.
Alo Yoga also uses the space to film content for its YouTube series "Break the Ice," where celebrities and influencers, including Benny Blanco and Eva Longoria, answer questions while sitting in a cold plunge.
TikTok influencer Jake Shane has posted numerous videos working out at the fitness center and, on his podcast, has talked about his experience networking with celebrities and influencers at the gym, from meeting (and later interviewing) actor Glen Powell to becoming "workout buddies" with singer Tate McRae.
On the podcast, McRae said she and Shane work out with "the craziest people."
"I keep saying that this place, Alo, the gym that we work out at, is like so LA because we always see these crazy celebrity people there," Shane said on the podcast. "It's the same thing as if we would see them in a New York club. So, it's like the clubbing for New York but in LA."
Recently, the gym has become a hot topic online. The internet has caught glimpses inside the studios on Instagram and TikTok, and on Reddit, fans have discussed the gym's rise in popularity and speculated what it takes to snag an invite.
Lindsey Lee Lugrin, the CEO of the influencer pay transparency platform FYPM, told Business Insider that although she wasn't personally invited, she did get the chance to attend the gym in June as a plus one.
There are several trendy workout studios around LA, from group workouts at Hot8Yoga and Barry's, to luxury gyms like Equinox and Dogpound. But what sets the Alo Wellness Club apart from these places is its exclusivity and many amenities, including three cold plunges, cryotherapy, a sauna, and a red light therapy room.
Following SoulCycle and Peloton's lead, Alo Yoga is minting celebrity fitness instructors
Aside from its networking opportunities, the fitness center has also taken a page out of SoulCycle and Peloton's playbooks by helping fitness instructors grow a following online simply through their association with the brand.
For instance, Lexi Bader, who has 13,000 Instagram followers and teaches a sculpt class at the Alo Wellness Club, said on the podcast "Making Makayla" that she receives "a lot of DMs" of people asking her how they can come to the gym.
"It is very exclusive and they keep it gate locked," Bader said.
She said on the podcast that she's taught classes for several celebrities, including Lisa Rinna and her daughter Amelia Gray Hamlin. She also said that, to her knowledge, the classes were free for the people invited.
"When you walk in the entrance, it's like a fairytale," Bader said. "The yoga studio that I teach in is so beautiful. They have people who come in and do massages, sculpt massages, lymphatic massages, facials — you get it all."
Alo and Shane did not respond to BI's request for comment.
